Yahoo!

Woke up at 6:30, and noticed the Ape Tag posted 30 minutes ago!! What! I’m late, I have a 2 hour drive and I probably won’t make it...but...what the heck, let’s give it a shot!

The last ten miles of my trip I was behind a convoy of tree cutting trucks! Ugh! If I miss this because of slow traffic, sigh.

As I pulled into the parking lot, I saw a blue car. Ugh! I missed it! I’m here, so I guess I should do some searching. No luck at the first boulder, struck out at the second, nothing at the third...but...what’s that...a suspicious looking rock next to the fourth boulders. SCORE!!!! ADMIT ONE!!

It’s not perfect, but I think this deserves my best attempt at the Ape Cache pose (see pic below).

Stay safe y’all!!

And thanks for the fun!!

cron publish 2 months 1 week ago 006 - APE exploring South Dakota

7th Ave E, Mobridge, SD, US

The Spot the Ape hitched a ride on this hiders geo-vehicle. Oh boy if he only knew where they were going. This vehcile that I hitched a ride on it traveled through Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota, the hider and co-driver finally found a great little motel in Mobridge for two night. They arrived just as the snow storm that they had managed to stay ahead of finally came through. They took shelter in Room #4 which was very spacious and cozy for their stay.

The APE jumped ship here in hopes to find a nice hiding place before the hider and companion traveled back to Washington State. He hopes to explore the area and be reunited with a Geocacher from the area.

He found a spot under the deck near by the office. The owner of this motel was so happy to let the APE to rest here for a little bit.

Please if you search in the hiding place with no luck finding me, please feel free to reach out to Dave Haefner, Owner of East Sie Motel & Cabins at 605-845-8486 (Cell). I have his permission to post his information. We wanted to make sure that you guys are able to get the tag.

The APE was spotted looking at the beautiful view of Amenia, NY and the surrounding area. The APE was looking at different areas to hide from the muggles that use this area as a place to have lunch, look at the view, and generally unwind from a hectic day. The Rocks look like a good place for the APE to take a break and enjoy the view.

I HAVE PUT IN THE WRONG COORDS BUT i AM NOT SURE HOW TO CORRECT THEM.

This tag is hidden on Lookout Pass at N 47 27.193 W 115 41.733.

I tried to get it corrected before it was published.

The Spot the Ape hitched a ride on this hiders geo-vehicle. Oh boy if he only knew where they were going. As the hider traveled through Washington to South Dakota then on their return trip back to Washington, the hider and co-driver had stopped at this spot to grab the cache near by on the trip going out to the South Dakota. The APE jumped ship here in hopes to find a nice hiding place. He hopes to explore the area and be reunited with a Geocacher from the area.

I ran to big silver object and tucked myself into the a nice tight spot. Don't forget to grab the cache (GC4BDFM) near by.

Snagged! Woke up later than I would have liked and had to make breakfast before heading out to find this. Fortunately, I was off for the day and had less competition to find this. The bonus was getting a free container that I could use to replace a missing cache. TFTT

S Waterview Ln, Coeur d'Alene, ID, US

What better place to find a golden ticket than an old gold mine prospect. Once there you will need to look behind the little pine tree growing out of the rock. Under natural camouflage you will find a small red rock. Behind the red rock, also under natural camouflage, you will find the prized golden ticket. Congratulations, Willy Wonka would be proud of you!

cron publish 2 months 1 week ago 146 - Peering at the Pier

Ocean Ave, Santa Monica, CA, US

I would have liked to have put this in the park or actually peering at the pier, but this is a high muggle area, so I had to place it close by.

Once the finder spots and takes the ape, they should have everything that they need to set a magnetic geocache, but not at this exact spot since it is too close to another geocache.

Good luck.

Yes! I was headed to the DCRT today when I saw this posted, not too far out of my way. Got to the park and the coordinates pouted .31 out through some fields. Headed that way and when I got to about 400 feet from the coordinates I saw signs saying posted no trespassing. I then took a closer look at the pictures I said wait a minute that’s right near where I parked made my way back there and sure enough found a coin. Thanks 🙏.

The APE came across this beautiful gem in Dutchess County, NY. The APE was wandering one day and came across an area where they can have freedom to roam. Take the time to go into the park after you grab the tag, it is a beautiful area to hike year round. KD19 is an appropriate hint.

An amazing morning with one of my favorite cachers, TheScarlettRose!

Two wins this morning! First that I get to get out with this amazing catcher.

More importantly, this is her 1st FTF!! Super exciting and happy dances this morning!!

The park sponsors some amazing artwork and it took us an extra second, as the zombie had already been pained over. The cache was in a great place and we were really surprised that someone hadn’t found it already.

Thank you so much for the hunt and artwork and quality time this morning! ^_^

My phone sounded at 6am. I was up, dressed, and on location by 6:15am. After going the wrong way around, I made the find...in the snow. ;) Think it’s time for coffee now!

cron publish 2 months 1 week ago 036 - Ape running loose at Hell's Gate

From afar this Ape thought it saw skyscrapers to climb. Once it got here it found no skyscrapers to climb but just some basalt pillars not high enough to climb. It decided to lay down to take a rest after it's long journey. Be stealthy enough and you may be able to Spot The Ape directly behind the basalt pillars.

These athletic apes wanted to take in some local amateur sporting events so they headed out here to the campus of the University of British Columbia. Some of the events were free but for others; you gotta have a ticket like everyone else you silly simian! It may not be will-call but a ticket has been left here for the FTF!

Little hidden Graffiti park in beautiful Manette. You can find many an art work here. But beware there's a crazy old zombie here that hates Stupid Punk Kids! Should be an easy find, tag is hidden in small container which is hidden from muggle view but shown in pictures, parking is a bit tricky but you'll figure it out. And if you are up for it, this is a local Free Art wall for all to show their emotions and creative exploits but please keep it respectful. Have fun and hope you enjoy the adventure.

My heart sunk I started that way and be left, so I looked anyways and there it was.... glad it was just a muggle.... THANKS

This all access APE ticket stub got lost at Washougal Waterfront Park. A nearby eagle swooped and scared the APE off to some nearby rocks. Can you spot the APE or snag any evidence?

Saw this publish in the morning and wasn't hopeful that I'd be able to get to it first. But as I got off work, and noone was watching it yet, I set out. A leisurely drive, ending in a very interesting spot. Thanks for the tag, can't wait to get the ticket to match.

cron publish 2 months 2 weeks ago 014 - Spit the APE

An APE was spotted wandering Ediz Hook, a 3-mile long sand spit in Port Angeles. It left behind a golden ticket stub for one lucky finder. Hint: check at the base of the sign post under a rock. Good luck!

Wow, what a view!!

We saw this about an hour after publication, briefly discussed whether we thought we had a chance to get there first, with a two hour drive ahead of us, and then very quickly loaded the dogs in the car and were on our way from Olympia.

It took us two attempts to find the correct forest road to GZ and there was one stretch were I wasn't sure that my tiny Kia was gonna make it, but we got it done!

Many, many thanks to the hider!🐾

cron publish 2 months 2 weeks ago 013 - APE over Blyn

This APE escaped to a remote high place. Take a drive on well-maintained roads to enjoy some beautiful views and find the golden ticket stub he left behind. Good luck, finders!
